Mad @ WOMAD

Chicago’s finest kick start three days of festivities. The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble rocked little old Taranaki and introduced us to all the good things we can expect from this festival
WOMAD 2010 brings together a myriad of music, food and activities, stretching over three days.

Spread over a wide area, several stages have been erected to keep crowds entertained all day and all night. Small vendors are buzzing with customers and food from all around the world is being whipped up to satisfy your hunger while you make your journey through the world’s sights and sounds.

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

Friday was a taste of what we can expected on Saturday. Amal Murkus, singer/composer melded pop, original Mediterranean folklore and traditional Arabic heritage, railing against the marginalization of Arab culture. Her seductive tones mask a deep and entrenched longing for a home that all Palestinian share.

Dub Colossus, a fusion of traditional Ethiopian music and western jazz kept crowds entertained over at the main stage. You’d be forgiven for assuming Dub Colossus sounds a lot like new age Zoh Zoh without the Amharic off course but their take on Ethiopian music has reinvigorated this genre.

Dub Colossus

Taking center stage tomorrow is WOMAD’s biggest crowd pullers, The Ethiopiques, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Ladi 6, Kamal El Haraachi and Mariam Hassan.

MBT Chapa GTX Shoes
written by coach sunglasses , August 09, 2010
A rich man and his wife went into a shop to buy a bracelet.Neither of them was very young. They looked at a lot of beautiful bracelets, and after half an hour there were two Coach Maggie Bags which they liked very much, but they had not yet been able to choose between them. One of them was very expensive, and the other was quite a lot cheaper.
Of course, the shopkeeper wanted to sell them the more expensive one, because then he would get more money from them,so he said to the lady ,'Oh,go on.Spend his money. If you don't,he will only spend
mbt shoes it on his second wife.'
For several seconds nobody said a word, and then the lady said angrily, "I am his second."
